National Corn Husking Contest

2025 National Contest Nappanee, Indiana on Saturday October 18th

**Out-Of-State huskers without a state contest of their own can qualify for Nationals on the evening of October 17! We will be on site and ready with wagons and tractors. The top 3 huskers from their respective classes and states may compete at the National competition on Saturday, October 18.
***The National Cornhusking Competition, will be open for registration one hour prior to the competition starting at 7:30 am and remain open until 10am. Note: if registration is needed after 10am, you are to contact Emma and get registered if your class has not started or ended already. The National contest will begin at 9am. The National contest will be a mix of horses and tractors will be pulling husking wagons.
     National Rules Committee and National Board members will meet before contest begins.
     Awards will be given after each class has ended.
     Banquet will take place October 18 in Wakarusa, IN at Nelson’s in the Blue Teal banquet hall. Our speaker this year is Dr. Fred Whitford of Purdue University. Many of you may remember him speaking back in 2015 when we had Nationals at Prophetstown in Battle Ground, Indiana. Mr. Whitford is very excited to be joining us once again.

     Countryside Inn-this is only hotel with blocked rooms for state and national cornhusking contests.
     There are 10 rooms blocked for the Indiana state cornhusking competition on Oct 3-5, 2025, if you wish to make reservations these will be blocked till Sept 1, then the block comes off.
     We also blocked 40 rooms for the National Cornhusking contest as well for October 17-19, 2025, if you plan to make reservations with them make sure to do so before Sept 17, otherwise the block comes off.
     *When making reservations you will want to mention you will be attending the Indiana state or national Cornhusking contest with the correct dates, so you are guaranteed the reduced rates. If you contact them directly at (574)-773-5999 you will be able to secure this rate, otherwise you may pay more if you go through an outside agency for your overnight accommodations.
     NOTE: This hotel is less than 5 miles from contest site on the west edge of Nappanee, IN on US 6.
     **They will still honor the rates after September 1 for state contest or September 17 for nationals, but only if rooms are still available, but you’ll want to tell them which husking competition you are attending.
     ***If you would change your mind and wish to cancel your reservation for any reason, you will want to notify the Countryside Inn before the hotel time of 4pm of your arrival of Oct 3 or Oct 17 to avoid additional charges.
