Other Events and Miscellaneous Information - South Dakota Hand Corn Husking

Note: South Dakota Corn Husking's finances and details like insurance are handled through Dakota Heritage, Inc. Dakota Heritage, Inc. was formed in 1976 with the specific intent of reviving a South Dakota Corn Husking Contest. A second goal, not achived, was support of other events that showed aspects of early South Dakota farm life.

Dakota Heritage Inc. Meetings

Sunday, April 28, 2024 is the spring meeting at the Dell Rapids Pizza Ranch. Participants may purchase a meal at 5:00 PM for the gathering. The agenda for the 6 PM meeting will include ideas for the 2024 contest, the 50^th annual contest in 2026, and for the National Contest to be held in South Dakota in 2027.

Bring your family, a dish to share(drinks, plates, and silverware will be provided), and ideas as this will be the final meeting for members before the 2024 Corn Husking Contest held October 5 at the Fred Fedeler Farm. Posters should be ready (or they should be posted on the Contest Information at this site) so everyone can help advertise the 48^th Annual South Dakota Corn Husking Contest. If you ordered shirt and have not picked them up they will be available for pickup. Hope to see everyone there.

Saturday October 5, 2024 the State Corn Husking Contest will be held.
The awards from the contest are typically presented an early Sunday evening meal at Pizza Ranch in Dell Rapids in early November.
