Support the Contest - South Dakota Hand Corn Husking

Note: South Dakota Corn Husking's finances and details like insurance are handled through Dakota Heritage, Inc. Dakota Heritage, Inc. was formed in 1976 with the specific intent of reviving a South Dakota Corn Husking Contest. A second goal, not achived, was support of other events that showed aspects of early South Dakota farm life.

Public Fundraising Events

4:15 pm Monday April 7, 2025 Sioux Valley Electric will make a donation to Dakota Heritage Inc. for volunteers to serve at their district meeting at the William J. Janklow Community Center 802 W Community Drive, Flandreau, SD 57028. Volunteers Needed, contact Verna or Brian

5 to 8 p.m Sunday, April 27, 2025 Pizza Ranch Fund Raiser, Dell Rapids, SD. A percentage of sales will be given to Dakota Heritage Inc. in return for volunteers bussing tables. Need for volunteers is not critical, one was found that should be sufficient for the task

Joining Dakota Heritage Inc.

You may join Dakota Heritage at any time with an annual dues of $5.00. Membership starts the day after the state contest and ends the day of the state contest. To vote at a Dakota Heritage meeting you may pay dues at the meeting before it starts. The main purpose of the organization is assisting with and improving the South Dakota Corn Husking Contest.
